Sometimes track is very expensive. One cannot afford it by the pound and others cannot afford Remy, Saga, or all of those other high end brands. And if you do your hair every two weeks, who is going to drop mad money for fresh tracks? Well a friend of mines told me about this cheap nice quality track. it is soft and has great swing and thickness. it comes in several lengths and is from $10-$30 a pack depending on where you shop. There is also a good amount of hair on the waft and it does not shed badly. It is also 100% human hair and it flat irons and curls beautifully. i did a roller set on this once and the curls came out excellent with out any heat! I would recommended this to the on a budget chick who wants to style their hair often with fresh track. This track can last however if you want to wear it for a while.

I basically took small sections and roller set my entire head. I did not worry about positioning because I like to pluck the curls out alot.

How to Crochet Braid

This hairstyle is actually a 3 day style because on the third day it was such a fail I had to take it out. Now the end may not look like a fail but the upkeep and maintence of THIS TYPE OF HAIR is very hard. Now crochet braids with other types of hair I can maintain. This hair was truly a hard task and I could not take it but here is the how to. 

First you want to start off with freshly washed, conditioned, moisturized and corn rolled hair.

You take the latch hook and you slide it under your cornroll while the hook is OPEN. 

You then place a loop of the hair onto the latch hook and you close the latch. Be very careful because you do not want to snag any of your hair in the process. 

You then pull the hair through underneath the corn roll. 

You will be left with a loop of hair, You then do a slip knot with the hair from the other side. 

After you make the knot or loop you simply pull the hair through. 

Once you get the hang of it you will have beautiful and uniform knots with hair on them. 

This is my big crazy hair! 

To maintain this look you must braid your hair up every night! Small tight braids so it can last. They you simply pluck it out in the morning. 

Glue in Track On French Braid

My friend wanted to quickly do her hair for the week. No corn rolling, no needle, no thread, just glue and hair. So this is what we did... 

These are the main items you will need. 

Leave a nice sized section out in the front. 

You take black gel, or any hard hold gel, and you work it into you WET hair you then french braid the hair down the middle. If your hair is longer, pin it up into the bottom of the french braid. The hair will be very wet and gelly, sit under the dryer for 30 min or until your hair is dry. 

Measure the track and cut it to the length you need. You then take the track glue and squeeze some of it out onto the top part where the track is. You can fan the glue or let it dry a bit for a few seconds to get it tacky. 

After you place the glue on the track you lay it down on top of the french braid from the bottom to the top. Use the longer pieces of track first if you have different lengths. When you stick the track down take your blow dryer and use it to blow heat on the wet glue. It will cause it to dry very fast. 

You keep going up the french braid until you get to the hair that is left out at the top.

After you are finish you flat iron the hair you left out on the top and blend it into the track to give it a natural look. (She didn't want to pose for a real picture but a better one will be coming soon!)

Baltimore Natural Hair Care Expo 2011

This is a bit late but I was so excited to try my products that I forgot to put what I brought and how my experience was. This year I loved the hair show. There was so much jewelry and hair products! From small business owners like Afiya and Created By Nature, all the way to the big business owners like Heautiful and Jane Carter Solutions! The hair products ranged around the same price as last year. The main price was $10, The only issue I had was that the price of jewelry was sky high! Earrings had the prices of $15 and $25!!!! Oh no! Other than that I loved it and got my monies worth! Here is what I brought including prices, websites, and my review!



This is Created by Nature Shea butter. I love this stuff!!! I brought the Lavender and Vanilla shea butter last year and was searching for it again this year and I found it. Both of these were $20. This is not a bad price considering how much other products were. It smells awesome and it smoothed onto my 4c hair beautifully!!!

These products are made by Naturalista Cosmetics. These products smell wonderful! The spray in the bag is a Ph balanced leave in spray. The jar next to it is the Juicy Hair Leave In Conditioner. This is smooth and very creamy. It is also whipped very lightly, it is great.

This booth was a pleasant surprise. Walking by it made my nose yearn for more of a smell. This is soaps and lotions by Buhdze! I purchased two bars of soap and her scented black soap. These things are all natural and smell like heaven! The owner who was at the show was so friendly and welcoming. I purchased the oatmeal and honey bar as well as the white tea and ginger bar. The black soap suds very well and feels amazing on the skin! I love how she gave often bitter black soap a great smell.

This conditioner is by Simply Natural Organics. If you want a conditioner with a smell that will last all day long, then this is the conditioner to use! It smells great but very strong. it is thin in texture but has a vast amount of great ingredients!

These deep conditioners are made by Afiya. These deep conditoners are great. They smell nice and are very moisturizing. These deep conditoners elongate my curls and makes by hair very easy to detangle. Easy to detangle even if I slap it on a dry twist/braid out it will get my hair moisturized and detangled. This can also be used as a leave in as well. This is a hidden treasure that my 4c hair loves!

4c Mini Twists w/ Oyin Handmade

I have done 4c Mini Twists in the past. (Video of 4cMini Twists) These mini twists were not as good as the ones I have most recently done. This time around I used the Oyin Handmade Burt Sugar Pomade. This is a really great product for 4c hair because it whips out hair into the shape we want it. It gives great shine and curl definition.
